Maci Kean is currently a Senior Project Specialist with The Ujima Collective. She leads initiatives under the Ujima Collective to elevate youth voice, advance workforce equity, and support healing-centered engagement for transition-age youth. After being adopted at the age of 17, Maci has spent nearly a decade advocating for youth within foster care, specifically focusing on teenagers who are at risk. Passionate about LGTBQIA+ rights and disability awareness, Maci has worked with national and local organizations within Florida to advocate for change. She has been a keynote speaker for Dave Thomas Foundation for Wendy’s North American Conference, provides her voice of expertise to Child Welfare Information Gateway, has done several PSAs and served on the panel for AdoptUSKids, and recognized twice by the Department of Health and Human Services for her advocacy. With dual master’s degrees in industrial/organizational psychology and business administration, Maci brings a unique lens of research-backed insight and lived experience to the child welfare and workforce development initiatives. Her work focuses on inclusivity in the workplace and facilitating leadership development for Opportunity Youth. Maci is committed to transforming systems through equity, collaboration, and the power of lived experience.
