About me
Ashley Deckert serves as the Director for the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF), a state agency statutorily responsible for children’s behavioral health, child welfare and juvenile justice. Director Deckert is passionate about improving child and family well-being in Rhode Island and believes partnering with families and communities is critical to raising safe and healthy children and youth in caring environments.
Director Deckert previously served as the Director of Public Policy and Government Affairs for the Illinois Collaboration on Youth (ICOY) and held several roles within the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (IDCFS) where she oversaw divisions of Child Services including Residential Monitoring, Residential Recruitment, Foster Care, Juvenile Delinquency, Restorative Justice, Child Protection and Licensing.
